Medical Geneticist (M/F) – Permanent Full‑Time Position

About the role

The Laboratoire national de santé (LNS) is seeking a qualified Medical Geneticist to join its National Centre of Genetics. This permanent, full‑time position (40 h/week) involves providing comprehensive clinical genetics services to patients across Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical genetics consultations for rare diseases, cancer susceptibility syndromes, and prenatal counselling.
• Participate in medical validation of genetic analyses and multidisciplinary case meetings.
• Supervise genetic counsellors and doctors in training.
• Monitor scientific literature and ensure compliance with regulations and patient‑management guidelines.
• Contribute to national public‑health programmes and working groups, such as the National Program for Rare Diseases and National Cancer initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical doctor with a specialization in genetics (medical geneticist) and appropriate licensing to practice in Luxembourg.
• Experience in clinical genetics, including rare disease diagnostics, oncology genetics, and prenatal counselling.
• Ability to supervise trainees and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Next‑generation sequencing (Illumina NovaSeq 6000) operation.
• Clinical bioinformatics analysis.
• Molecular genetic testing and interpretation.
• Cytogenetics and molecular diagnostics expertise.
