Lead Java Developer (Senior) – Luxembourg

About the role

Our client in Luxembourg is seeking a Lead Java Developer to drive the evolution and modernisation of a business‑critical software platform. The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to enhance reliability, security and performance across web and mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Upgrade versions, troubleshoot issues and manage obsolescence to improve application reliability.
• Analyse logs and monitoring data, perform root‑cause analysis and resolve complex technical problems.
• Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorisation, secret management and vulnerability remediation.
• Optimise performance, code quality, telemetry and error handling.
• Provide technical expertise during redesign and modernisation projects.
• Support secure and stable production deployments through technical documentation and test automation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java developer.
• Strong knowledge of Java 17+ and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security).
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and application monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular and mobile environments (iOS, Android, Capacitor).
• Proficiency with MS SQL databases.
• Experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, ELK stack).
• Hands‑on experience with OpenShift and GitLab CI.
• Solid understanding of secure development practices and OWASP standards.
• Willingness to work onsite regularly in Luxembourg.
