Lead Buyer CAPEX for Decarbonization Program

About the role

ArcelorMittal is launching a billion‑euro decarbonization program that includes some of the largest industrial transformation projects in Europe. We are seeking an experienced Lead Buyer CAPEX to manage high‑value, complex procurement packages across mega‑projects in the mining, energy and heavy‑industry sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full CAPEX procurement lifecycle from strategy definition to contract execution, following ArcelorMittal Capital Investment Project Methodology.
• Develop purchasing strategies for projects and packages, ensuring optimal solutions for the Investment Approval Committee.
• Define and maintain procurement risk‑management plans and monitor progress using CAPEX tools.
• Select and engage suppliers through e‑RFQ/e‑sourcing, oversee tendering, cost analysis, shortlisting and negotiation.
• Draft and negotiate contracts in line with ArcelorMittal General Conditions and support contract administration, including change orders and claims.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with local CAPEX teams and ensure full utilization of DigiPACE for sourcing and contract management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in large‑scale industrial procurement (Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining, Heavy Industry).
• Strong knowledge of CAPEX projects ranging from multi‑million to billion‑euro values.
• Ability to work with global EPC/EPCM contractors, engineering teams and suppliers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and risk‑mitigation skills.
