Laboratory Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics (m/f)

About the role

The National Center of Genetics at the Laboratoire National de Santé is seeking a motivated Laboratory Assistant (Laborantin) to support its Molecular Diagnostics Service. This fixed‑term, full‑time position involves hands‑on work with genetic samples and state‑of‑the‑art sequencing technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process samples, ensuring accurate pre‑analytical documentation.
• Perform DNA extraction, real‑time PCR, and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Assist in developing and validating new molecular genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation activities, including SOP creation.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, preferably with a focus on biological sciences or genetics.
• Authorized “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” status from the Luxembourg Ministry of Health.
• Strong interest in human genetics and willingness to learn new analytical methods.
