Laboratory Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics (Full-time)

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant (Laborantin) to join the Molecular Diagnostics Service of the National Center of Genetics at the Laboratoire National de Santé. The position is a one‑year full‑time fixed‑term contract (40 h/week) based in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process samples, handling pre‑analytical steps and documentation.
• Perform routine molecular analyses including DNA extraction, real‑time PCR and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Contribute to the development and validation of new genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation activities, including drafting SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot failures and coordinate maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, preferably with a focus on biological sciences or genetics.
• Official authorization to work as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg.
• Strong interest in human genetics and willingness to learn emerging molecular techniques.
