Laboratory Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics (Full-time)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Assistant (Laborantin) to join the Molecular Diagnostics Service of the National Center of Genetics. The position is a one‑year full‑time contract supporting genetic testing and precision oncology initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Receive samples, perform pre‑analytical processing and ensure proper documentation.
• Carry out DNA extraction, real‑time PCR and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Assist in developing and validating new molecular genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation activities, including SOP creation.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, manage maintenance requests and troubleshoot failures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, preferably with a focus on biological sciences or genetics.
• Official authorization to work as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg.
• Strong interest in human genetics and willingness to learn new analytical methods.
