Junior Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join Sogeti’s data and analytics team. You will work under senior mentors to turn business questions into data‑driven solutions and help build the next generation of machine‑learning models.

Key responsibilities

• Support the analysis of business needs and translate them into data‑science use cases.
• Develop, train and evaluate machine‑learning models, including occasional basic NLP projects such as text classification.
• Explore, clean and analyse structured and semi‑structured datasets to assess quality and analytical potential.
• Build exploratory analyses and Proof‑of‑Concepts to demonstrate value to stakeholders.
• Assist in improving model performance through feature engineering, variable selection and initial hyper‑parameter tuning.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers and business teams on diverse data projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Data Science, AI, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong foundation in data analysis and machine learning; basic NLP knowledge is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French with good communication skills.
• Ability to understand business problems and approach them analytically.

Required skills

• Python for data analysis and machine learning (pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn).
• Data cleaning, exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.
• Model training, evaluation and basic hyper‑parameter tuning.
• Basic knowledge of NLP techniques (optional).
