Insurance Accountant (m/f) – Luxembourg

About the role

We are seeking an Insurance Accountant to manage technical insurance accounting, fund accounting and investment accounting for a Luxembourg‑based insurer with international branches. The role involves ensuring accurate data entry, supporting unit‑linked fund processes, and preparing regulatory reports under LuxGAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Enter complex business flows (premiums, claims, commissions) and financial data into the general ledger accurately and on time.
• Drive operational unit‑linked fund processes and accounting in collaboration with outsourced administrators.
• Oversee accounting and reconciliations of the non‑linked investment portfolio, working with outsourced investment managers.
• Control consistency between management systems and accounting, and analyse technical suspense accounts across multiple companies.
• Identify efficiency and control improvements, contributing to the optimisation of accounting and reporting processes.
• Participate in monthly and annual closings (LuxGAAP), prepare regulatory reports for the Commissariat aux Assurances, and support external audits.
• Prepare and control tax and VAT declarations before submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of experience in life insurance accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and tax principles.
• Fluency in French and a very good level of English.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
