Head of Clinical Genetics Service

About the role

The National Center of Genetics at the Laboratoire National de Santé is seeking an experienced Clinical Geneticist to lead its Clinical Genetics Service. This senior position combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to ensure high‑quality genetic care for Luxembourg's population.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational and financial management of the Clinical Genetics Service, aligning activities with institutional goals.
• Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, psychologists, and counselors.
• Instruct and mentor doctors in specialist training for genetics.
• Provide expert genetic consultations for rare diseases and hereditary cancers.
• Ensure compliance with the laboratory’s quality management system and maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Review and medically validate genetic laboratory test results.
• Contribute to the implementation of new diagnostic methods and sequencing technologies.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Clinical Genetics.
• Proven leadership experience in a clinical genetics or related laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of rare disease and hereditary cancer genetics.
• Experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams and training physicians.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
