About the role

R3 Robotics is seeking a Head of Advanced Robotics to lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent robotic systems for automated dismantling of end‑of‑life electric vehicles. This senior, hands‑on position will shape the technical direction of our robotics platform while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead innovation from research and prototyping to production deployment of robotic applications.
• Own the robotics software architecture, focusing on ROS and ROS2 frameworks.
• Design, implement, and evolve intelligent robotic control systems.
• Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2‑based software stacks ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Write detailed product and system specifications and define software design strategy.
• Collaborate with leadership, R&D, product, and manufacturing to influence long‑term robotics roadmaps.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and design reviews for engineering teams.
• Manage relationships with external software consultants and technology partners.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of hands‑on robotics development experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Proven expertise in ROS and ROS2 architectures.
