Fund Accounting Consultant

About the role

Northern Trust is looking for an experienced Fund Accounting Consultant to support its Semi-Liquid Fund Accounting business in Luxembourg. This is a specialist oversight role giving subject matter expertise across semi-liquid, private markets and hybrid fund structures, advising management and operational teams on client onboarding, operating model optimisation, process enhancement, regulatory compliance and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise across semi-liquid, private equity, private credit, infrastructure and hybrid fund structures.
• Oversee and review NAV production, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
• Support complex valuation methodologies, unitization, pricing controls and performance fee calculations.
• Review and enhance operating models for scalability, efficiency, risk management and control effectiveness.
• Assess Fund Accounting processes and identify automation and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Act as escalation point for complex operational issues, reconciliations, exceptions and client queries.
• Partner with Technology, Change and Operations teams, and support audit, regulatory and client due diligence activities.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, auditors, custodians, trustees and depositaries.
• Deliver training, technical guidance and knowledge transfer, and take part in strategic projects and new client onboarding.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in Fund Accounting, Alternative Investments, Asset Servicing or a related environment.
• Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of semi-liquid fund structures, private markets products and hybrid investment vehicles.
• Experience with Luxembourg fund structures and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of NAV production, valuation methodologies, pricing controls and fund accounting oversight.
• Understanding of private equity, private credit, infrastructure and other alternative investment products.
• Proven ability to review complex operating models and drive process improvement.
