European Tax Manager (Direct Tax)

About the role

We are looking for a European Tax Manager (Direct Tax) to join our global tax team. Reporting to the Global Head of Direct Tax, you will oversee income tax compliance, tax provisioning and related obligations across multiple European jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns and filings for European entities, coordinating with external advisors.
• Manage quarterly and annual tax provision processes under US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP, including current and deferred tax calculations.
• Partner with finance and accounting teams to gather, validate and report tax data.
• Monitor tax payments, filing deadlines and statutory obligations to ensure timely compliance.
• Assess tax treatment of business transactions, intercompany flows and operational changes.
• Support tax audits, inquiries and notices from European tax authorities.
• Identify and implement improvements, standardisation and automation of tax compliance processes.
• Contribute to tax controls, documentation and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with the global tax team on international tax planning and forecasting.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related field; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent) preferred.
• 6–10+ years of corporate tax experience with strong exposure to European direct tax.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions.
