Director - M&A

About the role

We are seeking a Director of M&A to lead and manage large merger and acquisition transactions for a leading corporate finance team in Luxembourg. The role involves close collaboration with clients and internal colleagues to deliver high‑quality deal execution and to drive business development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage end‑to‑end M&A transactions, from origination to closing.
• Develop a deep understanding of client requirements and design optimal transaction approaches.
• Work closely with team members to ensure flawless execution and risk management.
• Identify, anticipate, and escalate transaction risks as needed.
• Contribute to origination efforts by analysing and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Maintain clear internal communication, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and risks.
• Strengthen external relationships to expand the firm’s network and deal flow.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven track record of managing large M&A transactions from start to finish.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in French or German is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Experience presenting findings in clear reports and client deliverables.
• Eligibility to work in Luxembourg without visa sponsorship.
