Cytogeneticist (m/f) – Permanent Full‑Time

About the role

The Laboratoire national de santé is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cytogeneticist to join its Hemato‑Oncogenetics‑Cytogenetics service at the National Center of Genetics. This is a full‑time permanent position (40 h/week) based in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of laboratory technicians and scientists working in cytogenetics.
• Direct daily operations of the cytogenetic laboratory, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Develop, validate and implement new laboratory procedures and techniques.
• Interpret and communicate genetic results to physicians and other health professionals.
• Stay up‑to‑date with scientific advances and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in training of medical students, residents and colleagues.
• Contribute to translational research activities of the Center.
• Collaborate with clinical genetics, molecular genetics, hemato‑oncogenetics services and external healthcare partners to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required profile

• Highly skilled and motivated professional in cytogenetics.
• Experience in a clinical genetics or laboratory environment is desirable.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team.
