Construction Cost Engineering Manager – Amazon Global Procurement

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Construction Cost Engineering Manager to provide cost engineering services for its North America Design & Construction portfolio. You will produce accurate, defensible cost estimates and analytical models that guide capital investment decisions across Amazon’s fulfillment, sortation, and delivery infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent, bottom‑up construction cost estimates for retrofit, expansion, and new‑build projects across multiple building types.
• Develop estimates from early concept inputs through RFP‑ready construction drawings, adapting methodology to the level of project detail.
• Create and maintain programmatic estimating templates for multi‑site initiatives such as interior renovations and mechanical system replacements.
• Produce one‑off estimates for unique site conditions, non‑standard designs, and scope‑ambiguous projects.
• Generate high‑level ROMs for early‑stage project exploration when data is limited.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools for data gathering, cost benchmarking, and pattern recognition while applying expert judgment.
• Contribute to should‑cost modeling, supplier negotiations, and value‑engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction cost estimation and cost engineering, preferably within large‑scale industrial or logistics environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with incomplete or ambiguous project information.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams from concept through construction documentation.
