Accountant – In‑House Role in Luxembourg

About the role

Our client, an international investment firm active in private equity and real estate, is expanding its Luxembourg finance team. The in‑house accountant will join a close‑knit office of around twenty professionals, contributing to the accurate reporting and financial management of the group’s diversified portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing by preparing schedules, reconciliations and supporting financial statements.
• Record, reconcile and monitor intercompany transactions, ensuring consistency across the group.
• Prepare VAT returns and other indirect tax filings, liaising with external advisors and Luxembourg tax authorities as needed.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls, gradually taking ownership of more complex matters.
• Assist the finance team on ad‑hoc projects such as financial analysis, process optimisation and audit documentation preparation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or external audit within Luxembourg, preferably in a fiduciary, asset‑management or financial‑services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with SPVs, holding companies, private‑equity or real‑estate investment structures is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English and comfortable working in a multicultural, international setting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and VAT regulations.
• Experience with intercompany transaction processing and financial closing procedures.
• Ability to prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
