Staff Protocol Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Protocol Engineer to drive the next generation of scalable blockchain infrastructure and payment‑focused distributed systems. The role is high‑impact, remote‑first, and situated in Luxembourg, offering the chance to shape a globally adopted blockchain ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of advanced blockchain protocol improvements, including proposer‑builder separation and MEV mitigation.
• Develop parallelized transaction execution models for EVM‑based environments to boost throughput and reduce bottlenecks.
• Build and optimise core infrastructure components, contributing to Ethereum‑compatible clients and distributed‑systems tooling.
• Collaborate with research, security, DevOps and engineering teams to safely deploy protocol upgrades.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools for rapid prototyping, testing, and performance analysis.
• Mentor engineers and enforce high standards for system design and code quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in backend, distributed systems, or protocol engineering.
• Strong leadership abilities and a track record of delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Passion for decentralized systems, performance optimisation, and financial‑grade applications.
