Senior Embedded Software Developer

About the role

The Senior Embedded Software Developer will design, implement and optimise firmware for autonomous drone platforms. You will work closely with hardware, AI, RF and systems teams to deliver reliable, secure and high‑performance embedded solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software architecture, driver interfaces, middleware and flight‑control components.
• Create driver packages for sensors, actuators and communication modules.
• Integrate firmware with application‑level mission logic and AI perception modules.
• Support hardware bring‑up, PCB validation, debugging with JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers.
• Design and run HIL/HITL testing environments, script scenarios and analyse latency, stability and accuracy.
• Implement communication bridges between AI modules and flight‑control units.
• Develop failsafe mechanisms, flight logging and secure bootloaders with tamper‑evident update processes.
• Contribute to swarm coordination protocols and multi‑UAV communication middleware.
• Maintain code repositories using Git and track tasks in JIRA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 3–4 years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably in aerospace, robotics or UAV systems.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficient in C and C++ programming.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux and real‑time operating systems (RTOS).
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex‑M platforms, e.g., STM32.
• Hands‑on use of JTAG/SWD debuggers and logic analyzers.
• Version control with Git and task management in JIRA.
• Knowledge of HIL/HITL testing, secure bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms.
