Trainee Investment Analyst (5‑month program)

About the role

The European Investment Fund is looking for a motivated Trainee Investment Analyst to join its Alternative Lenders, Skills & Education Unit in Luxembourg for a five‑month period starting September 2026. You will support the Microfinance, Alternative Lenders and Fintech Division by helping to develop and coordinate a database that tracks the division’s loan transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of a database coordination project for the division’s transactions.
• Gather, verify and analyse data to feed the database.
• Support the follow‑up of project deliverables under the guidance of senior team members.
• Contribute to improving data analysis processes related to the database.

Required profile

• University degree or final‑year master’s studies in Business Administration, Finance, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Law or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional EU language is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage time under pressure and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
