About the role
Amazon is looking for an experienced Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) professional to join the Global Standards & Procedures team. The Senior Program Manager will lead the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of WHS programs that support Amazon operations worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver medium to large, cross‑functional WHS procedures, often with global impact.
- Develop, review, approve, and enhance internal policies to meet country‑specific WHS laws and Amazon Global Standards.
- Implement and track WHS programs, providing execution support to field operations.
- Drive standardization of WHS best practices at regional and global levels.
- Recommend improvements to program scoping, testing, and deployment.
- Partner with stakeholders such as RME, Procurement, SLeD, Compliance Assurance, Audits, and Legal.
- Travel up to 10% as needed.
Required profile
- Strong background in health and safety management, especially for high‑risk operations.
- Proven experience in program and project management within large, high‑performing organizations.
- Ability to work across multiple business units and align diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Record of delivering successful WHS initiatives and compliance programs.
