Head of Department – Management

About the role

LUNEX, a specialised higher‑education institution in Luxembourg, is seeking a Head of Department for Management. Reporting to the Academic Director, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee the academic and operational functions of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the department’s strategic vision in line with LUNEX’s overall strategy.
• Lead the design, development, delivery and continuous review of Bachelor and Master programmes in Management.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses covering management, leadership, sport business, health management and wellbeing.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external quality‑assurance standards, overseeing accreditation processes.
• Build and drive the department’s research agenda, particularly in sport management.
• Expand academic, professional and industry partnerships at national and international levels.
• Foster staff development, promote evidence‑based teaching, and encourage research productivity.
• Set and monitor KPIs for student satisfaction, retention, graduate employability, research output and international collaborations.
• Manage the departmental budget, resources and facilities in coordination with central services.
• Champion a student‑centred experience, promoting diversity, inclusion and internationalisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in academic leadership within higher education.
• Track record of developing and managing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Experience in research management, preferably in sport or health‑related management.
• Strong ability to build and maintain external partnerships.
• Demonstrated competence in budget and resource management.
