Chief Information Officer (CIO)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading banking institution to find a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for its Luxembourg office. Reporting to the Country General Management team, the CIO will shape the technology roadmap, ensure operational excellence, and drive digital transformation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and evolve the bank’s technology strategy in line with business objectives and global priorities.
• Guarantee availability, performance, security and resilience of all information systems and infrastructure.
• Lead digital transformation and innovation initiatives to improve efficiency, client experience and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation and process optimisation.
• Oversee technology budgets, investments, resource allocation and long‑term planning.
• Manage relationships with vendors, strategic partners and external service providers.
• Lead cybersecurity, technology risk, business continuity and operational resilience programmes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, governance and technology requirements for the banking sector.
• Drive enterprise architecture, platform modernisation and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Establish robust IT governance frameworks, policies, procedures and controls.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary technology teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology, innovation, cybersecurity and digital strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior technology leadership experience in banking, financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
• Previous role as CIO, Head of IT, IT Director or comparable executive‑level position.
• Successful track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large‑scale technology transformations.
• Strong background in IT operations, cybersecurity, governance and project delivery.
• Experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships.
• Residency in Luxembourg is mandatory.
