Category Manager – Equipment, Mobility & Infrastructure (GPO)

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Category Manager to join our Global Procurement Operations (GPO) CAPEX Category team. In this role you will own end‑to‑end category management for a portfolio of equipment subcategories within our Equipment, Mobility and Infrastructure (EMI) team, supporting Amazon's fulfillment, sortation, and logistics network globally.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned equipment subcategories, including market analysis, should‑cost modeling, and supplier landscape assessments.
• Lead competitive sourcing events (RFx), negotiate contracts, and drive supplier award decisions for multi‑million‑dollar equipment programs.
• Own supplier relationships end‑to‑end, from vendor scouting and qualification through performance management and continuous improvement.
• Identify and deliver year‑over‑year cost savings through negotiation, value engineering and specification optimization.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business requirements and product development timelines.
• Maintain catalog accuracy, drive catalog coverage improvements, and ensure procurement compliance across regions.
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks, including single‑source dependencies, geopolitical exposure, and capacity constraints.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and SQL.
• Experience in program or project management.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams.
• Experience defining and implementing process‑improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
• Supply‑chain experience, including defining program requirements and using data to drive improvements.

Required skills
